ON BOARD YOU CAMPERVAN

Our wide range of vans and fitted vans can meet all your needs! Discover their different layouts, and personalise your van with our choice of options and accessories so that it meets your travel plans in every respect! Depending on the van you rent (Malaga, Ibiza, California, Tasmania, Patagonia or Grand California) your van will be equipped with :

One or two bench beds, with mattress protectors (optional bedding: fitted sheet, duvet, pillows and towels)
A kitchen, with storage, water point, fridge, gas cooker and all the necessary utensils and crockery (pots, strainers, plates, glasses, cups, cutlery, bottle opener, corkscrew, tea towels, washing-up liquid, etc.)
Storage space for your personal belongings

… and many other optional accessories useful for your trip: bicycle rack, roof bars, WC, GPS…

Our converted vans are equipped with the following items as standard for your comfort:

Air conditioning
Cruise control
Stationary heater, running on an auxiliary battery (except Ibiza)
Swivel seats (except Malaga)
Table
Insulating and blackout curtains for night-time use
CD/MP3 radio or Apple Connect

WHAT EQUIPMENT IS SUPPLIED WITH THE VAN?

With our vans and their height of less than 2 metres, you pay the same rate in France and most other European countries as with your car (category 1)!

For the Patagonia and Grand California vans, you go to category 2.

 

WHAT IS THE TOLL RATE?

Wherever you want, or almost! You can opt for a car park or a stopping place (you can choose this quiet little beach car park, or this superb wild promontory at the foot of the lighthouse, facing the ocean) or a campsite…

Thanks to the low height (less than 2 meters) of all our vans, nothing can prevent you from stopping wherever you want, in total autonomy. Stay away from the big motorhomes, go where they can’t go. Beware of private sites or parking bans…
For the Patagonia and Grand California vans, the France Passion offer equips all our vehicles: pleasant parking in private properties, with the added bonus of a warm contact with your host!
With our partner Park4Night, don’t look for your parking spots anymore: install the app on your smartphone (requires a data connection) or use our GPS with integrated Park4Night points, and let us guide you!

WHERE TO PARK AT NIGHT WITH THE VAN?

No, smoking is not allowed inside our vans. But there’s nothing to stop you from parking whenever you want to have a smoke!

 

CAN YOU SMOKE IN THE VAN?

Yes, on our Malaga, California and Tasmania camper vans and our Patagonia and Grand California vans, a stationary heater allows you to keep warm all night long, wherever you are.

On the Ibiza van, a mains connection and a portable heater also allow you to leave in any season.

WILL IT BE WARM ENOUGH OUT OF SEASON AT NIGHT?

As far as storage is concerned, VAN-AWAY has planned for you, and on all the camper vans, multiple spaces for all your things:

Wardrobes, drawers or even under-seat storage: all our fitted vans offer you various storage spaces for your belongings and, on the kitchen side, your food.
If you are travelling with bicycles, surfboards or sailboards, bike racks and roof racks are also available.

CAMPERVAN BOOKING

Drivers must be over 23 years of age and hold a valid driving licence for more than three years.
The hirer must present, at the time of signing the rental contract

– a valid identity document
proof of address less than one year old (water, electricity or France Telecom bill, etc.)
– a valid driving licence
– a means of payment to pay for the rental (ANCV, credit card ) and a credit card for the deposit (amount not debited)

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS FOR RENTING A VAN?

The payment of the deposit (at the time of the reservation) and the balance (at the time the vehicle is made available) is made by bank card, bank transfer, cheque (persons domiciled in France only).
The payment of the balance – the remaining amount of the rental – is made at the time of the delivery of the van, in cash, by credit card, or by ANCV or ANCV dematerialised holiday vouchers.

The booking is done in 3 steps:

2. We will send you a rental proposal by e-mail, including an estimate mentioning the dates, the proposed van (and its fittings and accessories), and the rate applied. Please note: this proposal is subject to vehicle availability! So don’t delay…


3. You confirm your reservation by paying a deposit of 30%, with a minimum of 50 euros, of the rental price, by bank transfer or credit card. The reservation is effective only at the time of the cashing by VAN-AWAY of this deposit.

HOW TO BOOK A CAMPERVAN?

We ask for a deposit of 2000€, which is not cashed during the rental period, which can be paid:

This deposit is used to cover our insurance deductibles, in the event of an accident or responsible incident, your fines, your additional expenses (overage, cleaning…).

WHAT IS THE DEPOSIT REQUIRED?

In the case of a reservation cancellation:

Occurring more than 2 months (60 days) before the date of beginning of rent: the deposit is restored after deduction of a fixed amount of 50 euros
Occurring less than 2 months (60 days) before the date of beginning of rent: VAN-AWAY reserves the right not to return the deposit – in particular if the vehicle is not rented on the cancelled period of rent.

WHAT ARE THE CANCELLATION CONDITIONS?

Pets are accepted on board our vans and converted vans.

A “pet package” ensures the well-being of all and the complete disinfection of the vehicle after stays in the company of these dear little beasts.

Rates may vary depending on the VAN-AWAY agency.

PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF

The van can be made available:

At the VAN-AWAY offices, in our different agencies (we offer free parking for your vehicle)
At an airport – if service proposed by the VAN-AWAY agency of your area
At a train / tram / metro station – if service proposed by the VAN-AWAY agency of your region

The days and schedules of provision of the vehicle are :

In very low, low or average season

– For a hiring of more than 4 days: the agreed day of the beginning of hiring, as from 9h
– For a rental of 2 or 3 days: the day before from 6pm
– For any other schedule, please contact us

In high season

– Saturday morning, from 9am
– For any other day or time, please contact us

VAN-AWAY gives the van to the tenant in perfect working order, clean, with a full tank of fuel and clean water, and provided with all the administrative titles necessary for its circulation.

HOW TO COLLECT YOUR VAN AFTER BOOKING?

The days and times of return of the vehicle are :

In very low, low or medium season

– The agreed day of the end of the rental period, until 6pm
– For any other time, please contact us

In high season

– Friday, until 5pm
– For any other day or time, please contact us

The van must be returned with a full tank of fuel, and clean inside and out. If this is not the case, unless the cleaning package is subscribed to, the hirer will be asked to pay a fixed fee (rate according to agency).

CAMPERVAN USAGE

When the van is empty of occupants, the tenant commits himself to park it in a safe place, locked with the possible anti-theft devices provided by VAN-AWAY.

Moreover, he must not leave the keys and the titles of circulation (insurance, grey card) inside the fitted out van.

He also commits himself to put out of sight the accessories such as GPS, telephones, DVD player when the van is parked and unoccupied

WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VAN?

The rental is strictly personal. The hirer undertakes not to allow the van to be driven by persons other than those mentioned on the contract, except in cases of proven force majeure.

The hirer undertakes, during the entire rental period

To drive carefully, respecting the speed limits and the traffic rules of the territory crossed
To estimate the size and height of the vehicle
Not to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
To respect the number of seats specified in the vehicle registration document
Not to tow a trailer or other vehicle, or use the rented vehicle to push another vehicle
Not to bring the vehicle into contact with salt water
Not to travel with pets
Not to travel to countries not covered by the insurance provided by VAN-AWAY (see list of countries on the green card)

WHAT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE USE OF THE VAN?

INSURANCE, CUSTOMER CARE

The insurance contract included in the rental agreement includes

A motor vehicle liability insurance, to cover all damage caused by the hirer, as a result of driving the van, to

A third party: vehicle, good, persons…
– The passengers of the van rented by VAN-AWAY

A guarantee driver
An all risks insurance, to cover the damages caused to the van rented by VAN-AWAY, for which the tenant is recognized as responsible (partial or total responsibility). This insurance includes an excess, covered by the deposit of the tenant
An insurance against theft and fire
Insurance against natural disasters
Insurance against acts of vandalism
Insurance against glass breakage and headlights

These insurances apply:

For incidents and accidents occurring while the drivers mentioned on the contract are driving
In the countries mentioned on the green insurance card
For the duration of the rental contract

WHAT INSURANCE IS OFFERED WITH THE VAN RENTAL?

The assistance contract included in the rental contract (outside Caledonia) includes :

Assistance for the vehicle: breakdown service, towing… even in the event of a puncture
Personal assistance: repatriation, hotel nights, etc.
Assistance in filling out the accident report
